3 Anne Miller Author: Kate Banks Kate Banks was born and raised in Maine. When she was young, she liked to spend time outdoors. Kate Banks also liked to read a lot. She loved picture books because magical and unexpected things could happen in them. Now, she loves writing and drawing her own picture books for children. "As I grew up, I found that books helped me sort out my life." "I think all of my experiences, big and small, somehow find their way into my writing."
