What Is Discipleship? Defining Discipleship (Matt 4:19): And He *said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 3 Parts to Jesus’ statement: 1.Follow Me: It’s a Mental decision to follow Jesus 2.I Will Make You: A Heart decision to all Him to change you into His image 3.Fishers of Men: Creates Action; you develop relationships with others to change their life (ref. Tim 2:2)

3 Ingredients Required for Changing Lives 3. People of God Critical for discipleship Sharpen, Encourage, Support, Strengthen Maturity is marked by depth/quality of relationships (Romans 12:9- 21, Galatians 5:22-23) Provides spiritual protection/covering Guidance

Keys To Transparency 1.Be real. It builds trust 2.Everybody sees through fakeness 3.Fakeness causes distrust 4.Be listeners first 5.Share failures & help move forward past failure Your example shows how we all mess up, get up, & move forward again…for growth. “Sharing breaks the power of secrecy in people’s lives.
