2  Write a brief description of someone that has been a positive role model for you. (Not a celebrity or historical figure, but someone that you know)

3  Character – the way a person thinks, feels and acts.  ACTIVITY – using a t-chart, you should list some of the positive traits that someone with good character has on the left side and give an example on the right side of how you’ve used that character trait recently.

4  POSITIVE 1. Trustworthy 2. Respectful 3. Responsible 4. Fair 5. Caring 6. Good citizen  EXAMPLE 1. Returned a borrowed item promptly. 2. Listened in class 3. Complete chores 4. Officiated games 5. Helped sibling 6. Followed rules

5 As a child, you learned character traits mostly from your parents/guardians. You also learned character by how you were treated. When someone treated you with respect, you learned the value of that trait. 1. Life experiences 2. Role models

6  Developing good character requires effort. It requires you to think about what you say and how you act. Everyone has the potential to become a person of good character. People of good character not only strengthen their own personal health, but also make the world a better place to live.

7  Are your words/actions trustworthy?  Can people count on you?  Do you speak respectfully to others?  How do you respond when things don’t go your way?  Are you a good listener?  Do you make your home, school, and community better places?  Do you have character traits that you want to improve?
