Viscous (adj) Having a thick, gluey quality; lacks easy movement; sticky or thick Honey is more viscous than water.

Murky (adj) Describes water or occasionally a place or situation. Dark, gloomy, cloudy. Unclear.

Exhume (verb) Ex – prefix meaning “un” or “not” Hume – like humus layer – means dirt Literal meaning “to un- dirt” or to dig up The coroner ordered the body to be exhumed for the investigation.

Credence (noun) Belief, mental acceptance, trust Usually preceded by the word “to give” or a synonym of “to give”

Decry (verb) To condemn, express strong disapproval. I will decry the tax raise at the protest.

Cavort (verb) To romp or prance exuberantly; to make merry – to physically play and dance around The kangaroos cavorted in the field.

Dissemble (verb) To deliberately disguise or conceal, usually feelings. He tried to dissemble his motives, but I knew he was up to no good.

Distraught (adj) Very upset and agitated because of emotional or mental conflict. More active than “depressed” She was so distraught because her friend wanted her to cheat, but she knew it was wrong. She was distraught because she loved her boyfriend, but her parents hated him
