® Empowering women and girls Empowerment involves increasing access to assets and capabilities to participate in, negotiate with, influence, control and hold accountable institutions that affect their lives Empowerment strategies should focus on enabling marginalized groups to seek changes in conditions which are harmful to women and their families, and to gain access to social resources that promote health
