Continues to be associated with high operative mortality and morbidity, particularly in patients with aortic root abscess Radical resection of all infected tissues is probably more important than the valve implanted as far as the chances of curing the endocarditis

Conclusions Homograft
AV homograft offers no advantage over xenograft valves in patients with aortic stenosis AV homograft may be ideal for patients with infective endocarditis with paravalvular abscess but it is not a substitute for radical resection
