5. Cell Phones Recycling Leave your old cell phone at the Security desk We will donate these phones to the Boston Medical Center who will give usable phones to victims of domestic violence and sell unusable phones to a recycling firm.

6. Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap and air-filled packing bags are recycled on-site! Clean packing materials that can be used again and again are stored on-site for your use and to be added to. This saves money and the horrors of it going into our landfills and oceans. 7. Electronics disposal Computer equipment, and other electronics must be disposed of carefully to avoid leaking harmful substances into the water supply. Option 1: A price list from our waste disposal company can be found on the ETH website under the link “Electronics Removal Pricing” for electronics pick ups from 399 Boylston St. Option 2: Consumers can take up to two units per day, per household, for recycling at any U.S. Best Buy store. Best Buy will accept most consumer electronics, including : »Televisions and monitors up to 32 inches »Computer CPUs and notebooks, small electronics, VCR and DVD players »Phones, and accessories such as keyboards, mice, and remotes. A $10 recycling fee per unit will be charged for items with screens, such as televisions, laptop computers, and monitors. 8. Battery Recycling Alkaline batteries made in the USA after 1994 do not contain mercury and are safe to dispose with trash if done so in small quantities. Duracell and Energizer stopped using mercury in 1984. Batteries with a green tree logo or the words “no added mercury” or “zero mercury added” are also safe to dispose with the trash.
