How does Tutorial work?
7
Planner and Stamps All students have their planner each day – or detention! If a teacher needs you, they will stamp your planner A minute before the end of MOD 4 (bell will sound), take out your planner If stamped that day, go straight to that class Multiple stamps, priority days You CANNOT go to another tutorial, if your planner is stamped Planners out entire tutorial period
8
“Open” and “Closed” Each classroom will either have a green “Open” sign or a red “Closed” sign posted outside their classroom. Students may enter an “Open” classroom for tutorial Unless students have a stamp from that teacher, they may not enter a “Closed” classroom Teachers may close their classroom at their convenience
9
What if I don’t have a stamp? Students will have a choice of where they go to study or do homework You may not enter a closed classroom, which will have a red “Closed” sign posted on the door “Open” and “Closed” class schedules will be posted online on Mondays. They will also be posted around campus, including classrooms The quad and library will always be “Open”
10
What about books? If you know you need to work primarily on a particular subject, go to that class. Each POD will have 5 books from other subject areas of that grade level for students to use. The library, quad, P.E. classroom, and History will have a cart with both 7 th and 8 th grade books You are to have an ID card to check out a book
11
Other Information In case of emergency, line up with your MOD 4 on the volleyball/basketball courts Substitutes will have tutorial – if you have a stamp, report to class Tutorial in the quad is located on the science side and the center tables. –Red tables: homework area –Benches and planters: reading only
12
Student Norms Have all materials, classwork, RC book Know where you are going before tutorial begins Work diligently Remain in tutorial entire 30 minutes Go to the restroom before tutorial or wait until lunch All school rules are in effect BYOD at teacher’s discretion and for academic use only
13
Consequences No planner = lunch detention Tardies recorded through IC and repeat offenders = detention No ID card = no textbook checkout Disruptions during tutorial = immediate IC placement/detention Not being prepared for tutorial = detention (you have something to do at all times, i.e. reading RC book) – NO excuses!
