OUR MISSION STATEMENT…. “The purpose of the Lincoln Public Schools Association of Office Professionals is to recognize our member’s unique roles in the education system, promote educational opportunities, serve the youth of our community and provide fellowship with other educational office professionals.”

5. LPSAOP SCHOLARSHIPS Each year, Lincoln Public Schools Association of Office Professionals offers two scholarships. The Dianne Grieser Memorial Scholarship for $800 and the LPSAOP Scholarship award for $500. These are offered to any LPS graduate that will be attending a Nebraska University/College majoring in Business. In order to make money for these scholarships, LPSAOP has events to raise the monies…………………

6. LPSAOP AUCTION This event is held in the fall of each fiscal year. A committee works on gathering donations from various vendors to donate items such as gift certificates, restaurant coupons, movie passes, décor, games, etc. to be auctioned to those people attending. This event is a lot of fun and brings in a greater percentage of the money needed. It also provides fellowship for the LPSAOP co- workers throughout the Lincoln Public Schools district……… This event is held in the fall of each fiscal year. 7. SECRET FRIENDS Anyone who is an LPSAOP member can join this fun event!! The event runs October through May. Giving and receiving gifts for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas/Hanukkah, New Years, Valentine’s Day, Etc., is exciting and a good social experience.

8. LPSAOP SOCIAL GATHERINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR….. A Fall Get Together is held at a different facility every fiscal year. Several Secretaries in the Association attend these gatherings. A good time is had by everyone in attendance…………

9. OTHER LPSAOP EVENTS LPSAOP Winter Tea is held at a different facility every winter. Members have tea and treats, along with some type of program or entertainment……… or entertainment………

10. LPSAOP SPRING DINNER This is the biggest event of the year. And oh what fun!!! It is an occasion wear the Secretaries are dressed in their best. Some arrive early to reveal their Secret Friends that they have had throughout the year………

11. More on Spring Dinner….. Socializing with Secretaries throughout the district is a huge activity………. Also, the fiscal year’s retirees are recognized………..

12. Still More…….. Professional Standards Program recipients are recognized……… The new officers for the next fiscal year are installed………….

15. My name is Amy Chandler President LPSAOP 2004-2005 LPSAOP continues to have a very strong association for the past 25+ years. Membership has grown immensely the last few years. The association has always been very supportive for the board, Negotiations, and our Professional Standards Program. I have grown professionally through conferences and workshops. I have made many new lasting friendships. The association is always there for you in any endeavor. I feel I made the best decision when I decided to join the association.

16. My name is Lisa Morehouse, CEOE Through my membership in LPSAOP, I am part of something that is educational, fun and supportive. This organization helps our members strive for professional development through classes and staff development workshops; it offers opportunities to attend conferences, and has developed a very strong PSP Program. Members gain confidence in their leadership skills and grow to heights never thought possible. I can attest to that personally, having had the opportunity to serve as both local and state President, after gaining the confidence to “get on board”. LPSAOP has offered me many opportunities to learn and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. In my opinion, it doesn’t get much better than that!!
