Raster maps – DRGs, Image maps, DOQQs Formats -.tiff,.sid,.jpg Need the world file… GeoLink Optimized Raster files (.gor)  Quick display refresh…using pyramid layers  Only viewable in GeoLink  …so you need to keep the other files around to use in ArcGIS or ArcView.

13. DASM – Raster map issues.. Performance considerations…  Too many background maps and system will bog down…  How much is too much?  Things that seem to help…  Fewer large map tiles instead of many smaller ones..  “Burning” of vector data (roads, contours) into imagery  If software begins to act flaky, remove some maps from the map list…
