Bellwork ◦ Copy chart on page 23 of your notebook (right side activity)

Group Work ◦ In your group, sort the bag of words that you have been given. As you go, recognize what you are thinking about when you choose which category of verbs, nouns, or pronouns the words belong in. Fill out your chart by writing down the steps you took.

Jigsaw When you move into your new group, share with the new members the guidelines you came up with to sort either verbs, nouns, or pronouns. As your group members share, complete your chart.

Bellwork: Personal Practice ◦ Read your personal book and look for verbs, nouns, and pronouns. Locate two of each type of verb, two of each type of noun, and two of each type of pronoun. Write them down on page 24 of your notebook and tell which type each is. You may use a chart, or a graphic organizer if that helps you, such as an outline or a brain map.

Unlike Verbs ◦ When two or more singular things are joined by and you then use a plural pronoun. ◦ But if each comes before the list, the pronoun is singular
