1. Benet Academy Mothers'’ Club Newsletter Back to School, 2010 I am writing this on the first day of summer, June 21st. I hope that this letter finds each of you safe and enjoying the beginning of another wonderful season. I would like to first congratulate the 2010 Senior Class and wish all our graduates the best of luck as they begin their college endeavors. Thank you to the Used Books committee and everyone who worked so diligently collecting used books the last few days of the school year. I would also like to thank the Hospitality Committee for coordinating the Teacher Appreciation luncheon held at the end of May. I know summer has just started, but I am so excited about the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. Please be aware that our first Mothers’ Club meeting will be held August 18th in the Benet Library. The Library is located on the second floor in St. Joseph’s Hall. Social begins at 6:30pm and the meeting will start at 7:00pm. Please note that Junior/Senior Registration is on August 18th, and Freshmen/Sophomore Registration is on August 19th. Frosh Fest is on August 14th. Homecoming festivities begin September 23rd with a Student Government run Dodge ball tournament and Fall Sport Teams Pep Rally and Student Bonfire. September 24th the Student Government will host a Powder Puff Football Game and the Mothers' Club will host a Family Tailgate before we follow the football team and band over to the Benedictine Field. After the game all alumni 21 and older, parents and Benet friends are invited to celebrate our win at the Coal Ben located on Benedictine’s campus. The Homecoming Dance will be held at Benet on the 25th (Freshmen parents please note that Freshmen are not eligible to attend the dance.) More details and information will be available at registration in August. Please feel free to check the Mothers' Club and Student Government websites for updates. The Spirit Store will be selling the new gym shirts at registration in August. THE NEW SHIRT IS REQUIRED FOR ALL FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES. Upperclassmen are allowed to wear their old gym shirts but can purchase news ones if they’d like. There will be many new items available at the Spirit Store this year. Please note that the Spirit Store is open every Thursday from 11am -1pm when school is in session. The Used Book Committee will be sending out emails in late July for pricing and sales volunteers. Moms in Touch will have their first meeting September 22nd at 9:30am in the Green Room. The Green Room is located across from the chapel on the third floor in St. Joseph’s Hall. Mothers' Club will be working with the Dads’ Club to present The Naperville Comedy Club “Whose Line Is It Anyway” performance. Details will follow as we get closer to the date.
