3 A PAYROLL REGISTER contains employee details and the amount of pay they have earned over a period of time. This amount is called their Gross Earnings. The PAYROLL REGISTER also includes any deductions that need to be taken off the employee’s pay. This amount is called their Net Earnings.

4 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 The employee numbers and names appear at the start of the Payroll Register

5 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 Total hours = Regular hours + Overtime hours

6 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 Regular earnings = Regular hours x Regular pay per hour. 2400 Dhs = 80 hours x 30 Dhs per hour

7 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 Total Hours worked = Regular hours + Overtime hours 37 hours = 30 regular hours + 7 hours overtime

8 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 Overtime earnings = number of hours x [1.5 x regular rate] 525 = 7 x [ 1.5 x 50 ] 525 = 7 x 75

9 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 Gross earnings = Regular earnings + Overtime earnings 2025 Dhs = 1500 Dhs + 525 Dhs

10 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 Deductions are taken out of the salary for things such as medical insurance, housing etc.

11 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 Net earnings = Gross earnings less deductions 1400 Dhs = 1440 Dhs – 40 Dhs

12 PAYROLL REGISTER For the period September 1 to September 15 30 hours x 50 Dhs / hour= 1500 Dhs add 7 hours x 75 Dhs / hour= 525 Dhs less no deductions_________ 2025 Dhs 7873 Ahmed Humah 37 30 50 1500 7 75 525 2025 2025 Ahmed Humah’s salary calculation
