2 Adam Mickiewicz Adam Mickiewicz was a great poet, but he was also conceited. In 1831 during a dinner party in Dresden organised by fellow-countrymen, one of the quest gave a speech and called Mickiewicz the best poet of all times and of all people. Mickiewicz felt very flattered, bowed and said modestly: ―But Dante as well, but Dante too. 6 Fryderyk Chopin Before he died Chopin asked his friends to name the following things after him: ♫One of the craters on Mercury and a planetoid ♫Sailing ship and a cargo ship, ♫Music Academy ♫Pianist competition in Warsaw ♫Airport in Warsaw ♫Music festivals in Valldemossie, Geneva, Duszniki Paris and if possible also in Gandava ♫Monuments in Łazienki, Duszniki, Wrocław, Singapour, Shanghai, Paris, Poznań and if possible also in Nowym Tomyśl or Tirana. Finally, he joked that it would have been nice: ♪to have the year 2010 named after him and to be worshipped ♪to hear the song "I like Chopin" performed by Gazebo.
