SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH VI It is estimated that visual impairment (VI) affects 2.5% of the population. One government school for the VI (300 students, gr.1 to 12) One KG for VI children (NGO) One training center for women with VI.

4 month program (Oct to Jan); 62 graduates Two profiles: A: Education & Rehabilitation of Persons with VI. B: Rehabilitation for Persons with Low Vision. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA

MASTER’S PROGRAM 2 year program with research (thesis) 12 students, 5 graduates Students are optometrists, occupational therapists, special ed., biomed. engineer.

TAILORED TRAINING COURSES For professionals with already a basic knowledge in the field. Based on observation, case studies, and individual work. On demands

VISION TRAINING CENTER Vision rehabilitation in 3 steps: 1.Interview medical history needs & expectations. 2.Assessment and provision of visual devices; 3.Advices and training on the use of devices and on skill development (visual, mobility, daily living or communication).

From September 2012 until today: 63 persons with VI 56 devices distributed: 24 spectacles 15 hand magnifiers 12 filters 3 telescopes 2 electronic devices. OUTCOMES
