Prayer For God and His Desires Instead Of: “Fix this problem (unemployment, finances)” Try: ”God, Where do you want to work?" Instead Of: "What do we want from God? (peace, patience)” Try: "What do you want me to learn about You in this time?” Instead Of: “Provide for this? (healing, salvation, protection)” Ask: ”How will God be glorified if He grants what I ask?"

Prayer For God and His Desires How Will This Change Our Prayers? We will pray less for relief and more for his grace to be shown. We will pray less for comfort and more for spiritual growth. We will be less concerned with ourselves and our needs and more concerned with God and His desires: His Kingdom to come! Prayer will become a way in which we co-labor with God to accomplish His will and bring in His kingdom. Pray-ers want God’s work to be done.

1 Thessalonians 1:11-12 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
