1973- Earned a Bachelors degree in Earth Science. In the University of California, Santa Cruz. 1978- Received her Ph.D. in Geology in Dalhousie University. 1985- Received her Honorary Doctorate in Dalhousie University. 1991- Earned her Honorary Degree in the State University of New York Education
