What is Schneider Electric? A French based multinational corporation Specializes in electrical distribution, automation management and provides energy management components and solutions. History 1836 The Schneider brothers took over the Creusot foundries. Two years later, they created Schneider & Cie. 1891 Already an armament specialist, they launched themselves into the electricity market. Known as Schneider Group. 1 st half of the 20 century turned from armaments to construction, iron and steel works and electricity. 2 nd half of the 20 century was focused on the electrical industry through acquisitions. Renamed Schneider Electric. Early 21 st century focus was on organic growth and acquisitions and a movement toward energy management.
