What is it? NuvaRing is a flexible combined contraceptive vaginal ring. It does not protect against HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases!

Contains a combo of progestin and estrogen. The NuvaRing inserted in the vagina. It’s kept in for three weeks. Once it’s inserted, it releases a continuous low dose of hormones into your body. After three weeks, you remove it for one week.

How to use: 1. Wash & dry your hands. 2. Hold NuvaRing between your thumb and index finger and press the opposite sides of the ring together. 3. Gently push the folded ring into your vagina. The NuvaRing does not need an exact positioning to work. *If ring falls out during the three weeks, replace with a new ring within the next three hours since it was removed. If not, the hormone will not work properly and may cause risk of pregnancy.

To take out after three weeks: 1.Remove the ring on the same day of the week as it was inserted at about the same time of day. 2.You can remove the ring by hooking the index finger under the forward rim or by holding the rim between the index and middle finger and pulling it out. 3. Throw awayyyy!

After Removed: Once the NuvaRing is removed after three weeks, you should get your menstral cycle. If you miss a cycle, check to make sure you are not pregnant. Talk to your doctor if any of the following occur: 1. You miss a period and the NuvaRing was out of the vagina for more than three hours during the three weeks of ring use. 2. You miss a period and waited longer than one week to insert a new ring. 3. You have followed the instructions and missed two periods in a row. 4. You have left NuvaRing in place for longer than four weeks.

Do not use if you have the following: history of heart attack or stroke history of blood clots chest pain high blood pressure unexplained vaginal bleeding known or suspected of pregnancy know or suspected breast cancer or cancer of the lining of the uterus or vagina

**Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects when you use the NuvaRing. Side effects of NR: -Blood clots -Strokes and heart attacks -High blood pressure and heart disease -Cancer of the reproductive organs and breast -Gallbladder disease -Liver tumors -Lipid metabolism and inflammation of the pancreas

COMMON side effects: -vaginal infections and irritation -vaginal secretion -headache -weight gain -nausea -change in appetite -depression -dizziness -nervousness -intolerance to contact lenses -breast tenderness/enlargement

The NuvaRing, if used according to directions, your chance of getting pregnant is about 1-2% a year. For every 100 women who use NuvaRing for a year, one or two will become pregnant. *Only use one NuvaRing at a time. Do not swallow, may be harmful.
