Her coffin was laid in the Rotunda of the Capitol (the US government buildings in Washington DC) for two days for the public to pay their respects. She had already been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour in 1999, the USA’s highest honour. Why did Rosa Parks get all these honours? There will be paintings, photographs and statues of key figures in the civil rights movement. Each person or group will have an electronic display with information about them and links to video clips, images, web pages and so on.
