Questions Poverty and well-being: –Indicators that are tractable, easy to communicate, easily collected, and widely available? –How can survey organizations and researchers work together on this? Hunger and Undernutrition: –Approaches: Input-oriented (FAO)? Expenditure-based (World Bank)? Nutritional outcomes (WHO/UNICEF)? –Inter-regional puzzles: Calorie deficiency highest in Carribbean, underweight worst in South Asia, child mortality worst in Sub Saharan Africa; Why do these indicators not agree? Should one focus one more than the other? –Challenges for data collection and monitoring.
