May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor Hunger games: May the odds be ever in your favor
4
Don ’ t leave your last three months to chance, these study habits will help you survive the games that your academics play.
5
When in doubt choose B: Statistically speaking B is the correct answer more than any other choice.
6
Outline and review your notes: Rewriting your notes will help you recall the content, outlining them will put it into context, and increasing the chances that your inactive memory may recall the content if it shows up on a quiz or test.
7
Learning is more important than memorization: Chances are that content will come up again. Your mind is a muscle, making it learn is just like teaching your muscles archery — and the key to survival is having weapons you know how to use.
8
Make a goal: Don ’ t just “ try to win ” make it your goal to win. The odds will be much more in your favor if you believe that they are.
9
Isolate yourself: It may be tempting to stay near the other tributes, but turning off your communications and focusing on your own survival will buy you time in the end.
10
Drink Water: Hydration and health is important for a healthy mind. Did you know that you can lives days without food but a matter of hours without water? Listen to your mentor and find water.
11
Make every hour count : In the arena time is not your friend. Do not waste time. F ind water, set snares, hunt out a good place to hunker down and get some work done.
12
Use your gifts from the sponsors: Tutors are tutors because they are smart, and they can help us. Use their little tokens of advice and your odds of survival are much greater.
13
Do the reading: Training may not seem like the most exciting thing, but it can save your life when you know how to tie a knot, what berries not to eat, or how to camouflage your injured team mate. Be prepared.
