3 ARE YOU PHYSICALLY LITERATE?  What do you tell the children in your class when you instruct them?  Are you having a conversation or telling them information?  Physical and Health Literacy is about giving our students the skills and information they require to be successful in decision making.  Our basketball mad kids want to be Lebron James but must understand that in order to be a great basketball they must first learning to run, catch, throw, think with game sense, eat correct food, train their heart and build their muscles and the list goes on. -------- This is being Physically and Health Literate.

6 RUDIMENTARY MOTOR SKILLS  We know what the Ausvels says but what does it look like when we are teach a skill. RUNNING Eyes focused forward throughout the run Knees bend at right angles during the recovery phase Arms bend at elbows and move in opposition to legs Contact ground with front part of foot Body leans slightly forward HERE ARE SOME MORE EXAMPLES

7 CURRICULUM PLANNING  What is essential inclusions in our PE program?  Junior Junior  Middle Middle  In which sequence do we teach various skills and sports?  What conversations should we be having with our Principals?  What do we need to include in our curriculum planning? 8 YOUR TURN  Grab a group of 3  Use the Unit plan provide and:  Select a grade level  Select a unit you are going to teach (Grade 3 Soccer, Grade 2 FHS etc)  Complete  Learning intentions, Unit activities, assessment, differentiation/success

17  You require an iPad in order to run this app. There are android alternates or you can set up a similar recording document in excel. (But I fully recommend if you don’t have an iPad try and budget one into your budgets for 2014.)  Show your Principals this program and ask them to buy an iPad for you.
