2. 0.1 Introduction In the real world, an Academy is an organized college or institution, where special subjects or skills are taught. Obviously, a Football Academy is the place where junior footballers go to learn the right techniques and tactics to prepare them for a professional career in this sport. Most young people enroll into a Football Academy for one basic reason: to learn how to become world-class professional footballers. However, setting up an Academy gives you an opportunity to do more than just teach football skills. 5. 0.5 Developmental Programme Short Term Plans.(first 3months) 1.Teach the young boys and girls the game of football from the foundation. Teaching them the basic skills in the game of football which include: passing, controlling the ball, heading, dribbling e.t.c 2.Give the players proper drills, which would make them physically and mentally fit. 3.Prepare the pupils for friendly (exhibitions) matches with other schools in Lagos Long Term Plans.(second 3months and beyond) 1.Intense training 2.More practice (exhibitions) matches 3.Enroll the team in States and National competition 4.Enroll in international competition such as: COBISS Games
