Ansel Adams (1902-1984) Born in San Francisco, Early interest in music and the piano – Wanted to be concert pianist In 1916 he took his first photographs of the Yosemite Valley at age 14 – Knew then wanted to be photographer

founded Group f/64 – With several other California-based photographers, notably Edward Weston and Imogen Cunningham “For Adams, the f/64 philosophy embodied an approach to perfect realization of photographic vision through technically flawless prints.”
