What do we do? provide ‘all age’ information advice and career guidance services for people in Wales. impartial and independent One to one guidance interviews Help people move forward after redundancy Help people make informed decisions about their career www.careerswales.com We are funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and ESF

5. What is ReAct Funding? The Redundancy Action Scheme ( ReAct) is a programme of funding for training provided by the Welsh Assembly Government for people living and working in Wales who are facing redundancy. The scheme can also help Employers who are downsizing their business or are recruiting staff. There are 3 elements to ReAct: Recruitment & Training Support Discretionary Award - Vocational Training Discretionary Award – Extra support

6. Looking for work straight away? ReAct Employer Recruitment & Training Support £3,000 Wage subsidy available to employers recruiting a person made redundant employed to work 25 hours per week or more £1,500 Wage subsidy available to employers recruiting a person made redundant employed to work between 16 and 24 hours per week 50% contribution towards training costs of a new employee

7. ReAct Discretionary Award – Vocational Training A vocational training award of up to £1,500 to help you get the skills you need to land a job. Discretionary Award – £200 ReAct Discretionary Award – £200 Accommodation fees Travel Childcare Childcare Additional funding available

8. Who can Apply for the Discretionary Award (Vocational Training)? Anyone under a current notice of redundancy. Have become unemployed in the last 6 months as a result of redundancy Have not worked continuously for more than six weeks following redundancy Resident in Wales on date of issue of notice of redundancy Have not undertaken any public funded training since being made redundant

9. ReAct Summary Applications to ReAct must be made and approval received BEFORE starting work, or training. Each case is looked at on an individual basis and ReAct will make the final decision To access Vocational Training funding (£1500) you must see a Careers Wales Adviser as Careers Wales needs to support any training applied for and this endorsement needs to accompany your application
