Presents The Next Generation Outdoor Perimeter Electrostatic Field Sensor
2
XField - Basics A 4-wire or 8-wire system that creates an electric field between field and sense wires High, narrow field pattern – up to 2.44 m (8 ft.) high and 1 m (3.3 ft.) wide for a 4-wire system A second 4-wire system can increase field height to 5.65 m (18.5 ft.) Detects intruders that pass through and disturb the field
3
Electrostatic Field Sensor Basics Parallel Sense & Field wires installed Field Generator excites Field wires Electric field coupled into Sense wires Moving objects in the field change the coupling between Field and Sense wires Processor detects a compound signal consisting of: – Amplitude Change (Mass of intruder) – Rate of Change (Movement of intruder) – Time Disturbance (Time intruder in pattern) – All Conditions are required to generate an alarm
4
XField - Features Volumetric, terrain-following electric field disturbance sensor 150 m (500 ft.) zones Dual zone processor Type 316 stainless steel sensor wire Direct-to-digital signal processing techniques Well defined coverage, adjustable detection pattern

XField - Benefits Full independent monitoring of all Sense Wires Minimum effect from extreme environment Separate relay outputs for Alarm Zone A, Alarm Zone B, Supervision and Fail Totally NEW high performance mounting hardware Totally NEW next generation direct- to-digital processor Configured from a laptop using the NEW Senstar-Stellar UCM (Universal Configuration Module) Software
7
XField Latest Developments - Hardware Totally NEW Insulator Hardware – Common insulator assembly for the entire perimeter – Self-cleaning insulators, free of insects – Simplified wire tensioning procedure – More rugged mechanical design NEW 316 stainless steel sensor wire NEW Simplified splicing at the start and at the end of the zone – Simple resistor terminator – Factory-assembled lead-in cable 8 m (26 ft.) long NEW simplified connection to the Processor – The Isolation Transformer (Sense Filter) has been eliminated. – Simple Phoenix terminals on the Processor Card for power and data – BNC coaxial connectors for the Field and Sense wires All inputs and outputs have lightning protection NEW Aluminum enclosure
8
XField Latest Developments - Firmware NEW more powerful Digital Signal Processor uses a single FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and high speed ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) technology – Direct-to-Digital front end – Part of a whole new family of perimeter security products NEW full independent monitoring of each Sense Wire – Minimizes environmental effects – Distinguishes between faulty insulators and intruders NEW lower Field Voltage and Frequency – Four operating frequencies (8000, 8320, 8640 & 8960) notch filters at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz to reject power line pickup NEW Local and Remote Maintenance using the UCM software
9
XField Processor – Auxiliary Cards Optional auxiliary cards enhance functionality: Output card provides 8 Form C relay outputs (rated 1.0 A @ 30 VDC/VAC) in addition to the 4 relay outputs already present on the processor card. RS422 Comm card supports two RS422 (4-wire) data lines, where a separate data network is required. Fiber Optic Comm card supports two multimode fiber optic data lines, where a separate data network is required. Auxiliary Power Supply accepts 18 to 56 VDC and provides 12 VDC, 150mA NOTE : For networked data, every sensor processor must have a Comm card (RS422 or Fiber Optic). The Comm Card does all data handling and regeneration.
10
XField Latest Developments – UCM Software Laptop running UCM software is connected through a USB port directly to the XField Processor All parameters are configured through UCM Multiple maintenance and diagnostic tools – Reliable line supervision with diagnostic capabilities When UCM is installed on the same computer as the Silver Network Manager, the UCM can be used to remotely configure, maintain and monitor any XField processor on the network.

XField Processor (XP) XP fits into optional Telecom enclosure Detail of the cable feed-through on the bottom of the enclosure XP with cover opened
13
Powering Options 12 VDC 48 VDC (18 to 56 VDC) 6 VDC backup battery on enclosure cover (standard) 6 W maximum with one Auxiliary Card - 40 o C to + 70 o C (- 40 o F to + 158 o F) Optional auxiliary power output module: 18 to 56 VDC input, 12 VDC @ 150 mA output at each processor
14
Alarm Outputs Relay outputs are Form C rated at 30 VDC, 1.0 A maximum, non- inductive load There are 4 output relays per processor: – 2 Alarm relays (one per zone) – 1 Supervision relay – 1 Fail relay Alternatively, the processor can be configured for a Senstar-Stellar Silver data network and control system – All alarms are reported on a central display – All parameters can be set and adjusted for each processor from the Network Manager or the UCM connected to the processor – A daughter card (RS422 or fiber optic) is required on all processors – Silver is the new Senstar-Stellar data network protocol

XField Hardware Supports the Field and Sense Wires Tensions the Field and Sense Wires Isolates the Field and Sense Wires from Ground Maintains the Spacing Required by the Chosen Configuration Permits a terrain-following Installation
17
XField Hardware: Interim Point 4-wire kits for a range of post sizes from 6 cm (2 3/8”) to 11.4 cm (4 ½”) Used to keep the wires parallel Consists of – pole collar – insulator bracket – insulator rod
18
XField Single Tension Point Can be either a Start Point or an End Point Wire is tensioned to 23 kg (50 lb.) A Single Tension Point uses a tension bracket and a single insulator rod. A Dual Point uses a tension bracket and a dual insulator rod. See the next slide.
19
XField: Dual Point Hardware The same hardware for Start-Start, End- End, Start-End and Tension Point The photos are of a Tension Point where wire contact is required. Insulator brackets are slightly offset to help avoid wire contact at the start/end of a zone. Wires are also wound around the insulator to avoid wire contact. See the diagram below. Zone A Zone B
20
XField: Terminator One per sense and field wire pair Resistor is spliced directly to the ends of the field and sense wires Heat shrink covers the connection Terminator
21
XField: Supported Pole sizes Tension Point Kits (single and dual) are available for pole O.D. of: – 7.6 cm (3 in.) – 8.9 cm (3 ½ in.) – 10.1 cm (4 in.) – 11.4 cm (4 ½ in.) – The variable component is the U-bolt. Interim Point Kits are available for pole O.D. of: – 6.0 cm (2 3/8 in.) – 7.3 cm (2 7/8 in.) – 8.9 cm (3 ½ in.) – 11.4 cm (4 ½ in.) – The variable component is the collar.
