Outline 1: THE NEED FOR A SANCTIFIED LIFE The Christian as a regimental follower of Jesus Christ should desire to be like Jesus Christ his Master. Apostle Paul said – 1 Corinthians 11:1 ’Be ye follower of me, even as I also am of Christ.’ Hence, the need for a sanctified life as Jesus did – John 17:19. Sanctification helps the believer to live a holy life without which no man shall see God – Hebrews 12:14. It is so crucial that it involves God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit – 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, Ephesians 5:26, 2 Thessalonians 2:13.

Outline 2: STEPS TO AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF SANCTIFICATION The believer can be sanctified through the following means: 1.By the Word – John 17:17. 2.By the blood of Jesus – Hebrews 13:12. 3.Through a heart surgery – Ezekiel 36:26. 4.Voluntarily – 2 Corinthians 7:1.

Outline 2: STEPS TO AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF SANCTIFICATION The consequences of sanctification are many. These include: 1.The ease of living a holy life – Ephesians 5:26-27. 2.Becoming a vessel unto honour for the Master’s use – 2 Timothy 2:21. 3.Bearing fruit with ease – Romans 6:22, Galatians 5:22-23. 4.Attainment of perfection of Christ – Hebrews 10:14, John 15:2. 5.A guarantee of an inheritance in Christ – Acts 26:18.
