4. The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) collects information annually from first-year and senior students. It assesses the extent to which undergraduate students are involved in educational practices empirically linked to high levels of learning and development. Since 2000, 1522 North American colleges/universities participated in NSSE. Approximately, 3.2 million students completed the survey. Qatar University (QU) participated in the NSSE in 2008, 2009 and 2012. Since 2008, a total of 1202 freshmen and 1032 seniors completed the survey.
