All activities, current and future, have been/will be evaluated through this lens and subsequently re-oriented or removed as needed 5

Copyright 2011 National Business Coalition on Health Action Steps to Date: Membership Interactive web-based platform for coalitions to better network, learn, share, and support Coalitions would be encouraged to maintain a member profile, populate a clearinghouse of resources, and serve as a mentor to struggling/fledgling coalitions Best way to support sustainability, growth, and impact is through peer connections Strengthened NBCH Member Outreach Developing a plan for staff to conduct a structured needs assessment and continued relationship building Membership expert consultant Future staffing plan 9

Copyright 2011 National Business Coalition on Health Action Steps to Date: Health Reform Health Care Reform Resources & Education Provide weekly legislative updates and health care reform resources for coalitions; multiple educational webinars; and updated health policy web page Enhancing Coalition Visibility at the National Level Committed to providing more opportunities for coalition’s to get involved on national boards, councils (e.g. NQF councils, Consumer Consortium on eHealth, URAC, etc.) Partnership for Patients CO-OP affinity group 10

Copyright 2011 National Business Coalition on Health Action Steps to Date: eValue8 eValue8 Transformation Project Committed team established to identify short and long-term activities to transform eValue8 to be more responsive to coalition, health plan, and purchaser needs Mining and translating data to answer key questions employers have Highlighting the utility of eValue8 in public forums (e.g. Partnership for Patients) Developing eValue8 Action Briefs in lieu of current data-heavy annual reports These too will be customizable and formatted for actionable use by any coalition or employer – NOT just eValue8 users Expanding to include public sector purchasers such as state and Medicaid Expert review and validation 11

Copyright 2011 National Business Coalition on Health Action Steps to Date: Grant Opportunities Announced three, large-scale seed grant programs for coalitions totaling over $700,000 since 2010 Community Health Partnerships American Health Strategies Project Community Health Planning 2 other potential seed grant projects in the works Staffing focus Systematic grants identification and push to coalitions 12

Copyright 2011 National Business Coalition on Health Other: Meeting Immediate Needs Coalition-Customizable Resources While co-branded resources are available, (e.g. Commonwealth Fund newsletter; eValue8 reports) NBCH is committed to ensuring that nearly all resources made available to coalitions can then be made available to employer members via coalition customization/branding Cristie Travis served as NBCH’s guinea pig for the Value-Based Purchasing Guide customization 13
