2 Second Grade Fitness Objectives PE.2.HF.3.1 Recognize one of more of the five health-related fitness assessments and the associated exercises. PE.2.MC.2.4 Illustrate activities that increase heart rate. What does this mean to you? In this unit you will be learning about fitness and 4 different kinds of exercises that can help make you fit. You will need to be able to recognize pictures or videos of all 4 different exercises. You may also be asked to draw at least 3 different activities that help improve your fitness level. Exercises: 1. Muscular Strength Short, hard exercises that challenge your muscles. 2. Flexibility Exercises that make your muscles stretch. 3. Muscular Endurance Easier exercises that your muscles can do for a long time. 4. Cardiovascular Endurance or Cardio Exercises that make your heart beat faster for a long time.

11 Second Grade Fitness Summary By the end of this fitness unit you will be asked to draw at least 3 activities that help improve your fitness. You will also need to be able to name all 4 of the different kinds exercises when your teacher shows you a video or picture of them. Exercises: 1.
