3 Construction-Related Accident Overview Accidents: Any incident resulting in injuries or fatalities Injuries: Any injury to workers or the public Fatalities: Any fatality to workers or the public January 1 st to September 30 th 2014 compared to the same period in 2013: Accidents increased 28% Injuries increased 30% Fatalities increased from 2 in 2013 to 5 in 2014 YTD – January 1 st through September 30 th.

4 Construction-Related Accidents by Cause Between January 1 st and September 30 th : Worker Fell and Material Failure represented 63% of all 2014 construction related accidents compared to 58% in 2013. Worker Fell accidents Increased 64% in 2014, compared to 2013. Material Failure accidents Increased 8% in 2014, compared to 2013. YTD – January 1 st through September 30 th.

5 Safety Challenge: Worker Fell Four of the five construction related fatalities from January 1 st through September 30 th in 2014, were the result of worker falls. Worker Fall accidents accounted for 35% of 2014 YTD construction related injuries.

6 Safety Challenge - Worker Fell Accidents Worker Fell accidents Increased 64% YTD 2014 over the same period in 2013 Slips and trips more than doubled in 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. 11 Safety Challenge: Material Failure Material Failure was the cause of one fatality and 29% of construction related injuries in YTD 2014.

12 Safety Challenge - Material Failure Accidents YTD Material Failure accidents increased 8% YTD in 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. Twenty percent (20%) of Material Failure accidents YTD resulted in civilians being injured, compared to 8% during the same period in 2013. 27 38 41 YTD – January 1 st through September 30 th.
