Good morning! Warm-up -Solve the following 1)2x – 10 = 5x + 6 2)2(x-1) = -3 (x+4) 3)Button your coat 4)Last least
2
Answers to warm-up 1)X = -16/3 2)X = -2 3)Button your overcoat 4)Last but not least

Graphing points Points are always written (x,y) # on the x-axis (horizontal) # on the y-axis (vertical)
7
To graph a point, always start on the x- axis (right or left) & then move up or down on the y-axis What quadrant would these be in? (14, -3) (6, 2) (-2, -6) (0, 0) (-2, 4)

4.1 Linear equations w/1 variable A linear equation show the relationship of two variables in the form of a line of solutions. Every point on a line is a solution to the linear equation that it represents. Most simple linear equation x = y
9
Equations of horizontal & vertical lines In the coordinate plane, the graph x = a is a vertical line along “a” i.e (x = 3) In the coordinate plane, the graph y = b is a horizontal line along “b”, i.e (y = 4)
10
Graph these points (x, y) (3, -3) (3, -1) (3, 0) (3,3) Which variable is constant? What does the graph look like? What would be the equation of the line?
11
Graph these points (x, y) (2, -4) (3, -4) (1, -4) (0,-4) Which variable is constant? What does the graph look like? What would be the equation of the line?

Joke of the day The difference between men and women A man is driving up a steep, narrow mountain road. A woman is driving down the same road. As they pass each other, the woman leans out the window and yells, "PIG!” The man immediately leans out his window and replies, "Stupid!” They each continue on their way, and as the man rounds the next corner he slams into a pig in the middle of the road.
