United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps Region 7-1 – Recruit Training Importance 1.US Navy = Seagoing Force = Lots of Water!!! 2.Thousands of drowning deaths every year because people did not follow water safety rules. 3.Swimming requires more physical endurance than all other sports.

United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps Region 7-1 – Recruit Training Class Objectives 1.Understand water safety rules and the importance of always following them. 2.Understand heat and cold injuries associated with swimming. 3.Identify the different survival swimming methods, water entry methods, and proper times for their use. 4.Identify the requirements for US Navy/USNSCC Second Class and Third Class swimmer.

United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps Region 7-1 – Recruit Training Water Safety Rules Be aware of your surroundings. No running on pool deck. No talking unless you are a swimmer in distress. Do not get in the pool until told to do so by a lifeguard/instructor.

United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps Region 7-1 – Recruit Training Open Water Safety Rules Be especially aware of your surroundings. Check depth before diving in. NEVER swim alone. Wait 30 minutes after eating to avoid cramps.
