Practice Schedule Season Nov 17-Feb. 27 Practices during winter break
Different schedule than last year 5:30-7 PM or 7:30 PM Many weeks practices available Monday-Friday 2 practice groups, by ability Refer to calendar! Banquet tentative date 2/28/15 Practice Schedule

Practice Groups Determined by evaluations
Swimmer with four legal strokes will be in Blue Group Both groups start at 5:30 White Group will practice 5:30- 6:30 Blue Group will practice 5:30- 7:00 or 7:30 Athletes may change groups during season Practice Groups

White Group Emphasis White Group will practice 5:30- 6:30
Emphasis on learning the four competitive strokes, starts, & turns with proper technique Stroke development techniques will also improve swim strength and stamina Goal is legal strokes White Group Emphasis

Blue Group Emphasis Blue Group will practice 5:30- 7:00 or 7:30
On days practice goes to 7:30, Blue Group will begin with dryland conditioning, video, or other on-deck work. Emphasis on improving stroke proficiency and technique Improve starts and turns Increase strength and stamina Introduce goal-setting, training levels, leadership, and race tactics Blue Group Emphasis

Swim Practice Expectations
The more practices you attend, the quicker you will improve Minimum is 2 per week All swimmer must be properly equipped: suit, cap, goggles, towel On deck by 5:20, ready to get in water at 5:30 Use restroom before practice Be ready to listen and learn! Swim Practice Expectations

Swim Meets Types: dual/tri, invitational, championship
Dual/Tri meets Dec.5, Dec.17, Jan.9, Jan.13, Jan.17 for ALL ATHLETES EL will host Kick-Off Invitational Meet on Dec.13 for ALL ATHLETES CAAC Championships: Jan 23 (dive) Jan 24 (swim) for GRADES 6-8 ONLY MISCAA Championships: Jan 30 (dive) Jan 31 (swim) for GRADES 7-8 ONLY, must achieve qualifying score or time to be eligible Blizzard Bowl: Like Feb 7. Spartan Swim Club meet for ALL SWIMMERS Swim Meets

Events are MIXED boys and girls, except at CAAC & MISCAA 50, 100, 200 freestyle 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 50 butterfly 100 Individual Medley 200 Medley Relay 200, 400 Freestyle Relays 1-meter diving No score is kept at dual/tri or Kick- Off meets Meet Events

Swim Meet Expectations
Meets = progress benchmarks Attendance at all meets is expected, let coaches know well in advance if you will not make a meet Events will be determined by coaches, with input from athletes via online survey On deck 15 minutes prior to scheduled warm-up Wearing team gear Bring a water bottle and healthy snack Emphasis on personal improvement and team spirit--cheer for teammates! Stay on deck until meet is over Swim Meet Expectations
