Team Manager - Travis Blais Project Manager - Jordan Shields Manufacturing Leader - Evan Lumby Software Leader - Samuel Slezak Maval Visit Summary (October 5, 2012)

This test rack includes many of the features that are fundamental to the Maval way of testing: -Adaptability -Clear Failure Indicators -Ease of Use

Torque transducer Slip-Shaft Connection Torque Application System

Safe/Clean Computer Storage Display Monitor that is at a safe distance from test Additional Operator Information

Scanner Serial # and Maker-> Scanner Storage <- Barcode Printer

Step By Step Test Instructions: Includes Pictures and directions Dated Approved by Management

 Overall:  Change Tolerance on measurements from 10% to 3-5%  Three motors will need to be tested: 170W, 220W, 360W ◦ All have the same housing  Need to check every unit for errors  Consider techniques for a locking mechanism to lock the unit in place if it fails.  Need to check that the unit is in place. ◦ Using torque in/out relationship is good, instead of a device like a proximity sensor  Need to be able to track what operator is using the machine ◦ Each employee has ID with barcode that they use to clock in and out  Maval can handle any manufacturing of components needed  Labels:  Only create label for good units  Same serial number should be used for motor and control module  No need to keep data from failed units  Process to run test: Scan elites S/N  Scan test specs (170W,220W,360W)  Run  To Re-run good parts: ◦ Have option for re-run ◦ Store re-run and original run data in the same folder

 Concepts/Operation:  The monitor mounted in the background or on a swing-arm would be good  Scan to run instead of button  No need for external red/green light, on screen is fine  They preferred the first of the two concepts  No need to have a complete table if its not necessary for functioning, no extra room for miscellaneous items to be left on table!  They do not want to use computer mouse and buttons often  Need to be able to run one stand and put the other in queue  Need to have option for the case that the barcode does not read   Action Items:  Send Maval summary of labview (Functions vs Cost)  Send Maval required computer specifications  Dale Lumby to send contact information for purchasing and Rob, Dave, Jim, and Mark  Dale to send what label printer and scanner they want to use  Additional Visit Notes:  360W Motor using up to 52 Amps  Input side of motor has all the potential mounting locations ◦ Motor may have to be underneath the unit
