T-Systems, February 2007 Standards are the key for improvements in quality and reduction of costs Interoperability standards for solution development IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise): recommendation for standard rules “The goal of the IHE initiative is to stimulate integration of healthcare information resources to improve clinical care.” IHE provides considerable standardization advantages with the extensive function range of products and a greater selection of solution approaches. IHE does not formulate any new standards, instead it consistently uses existing standards (like HL7, ebXML and DICOM). eHealth Integrator supports technical Standards: PIX - Patient Identifier Cross-referencing, PDQ - Patient Demographics Query XDS - Cross-Enterprise Clinical Document Sharing ATNA – Audit Trail and node authentication, CT – Consistent Time eHealth Integrator. Standardization is a Key Factor for Success.
