1. The Outline of an object. Helps define the image or shape you are drawing.

2. Follow these outside contour lines. What are these supposed to be?

3. Many cartoons are simply made using contour lines.

4. Contour line helps you draw what you SEE rather than what you THINK you see.

5. Contour lines can also include the inside lines of objects.

6. Go SLOWLY!!!! Drawing with contour line is not a race!!!!

7. You must concentrate and take your time. Study the object you are drawing carefully with your eyes.

8. Loose & sketchy Dark & bold

9. Drawings that have strong contour lines do not need color, value, or texture to look good.

10. Doing contour line drawings improve your hand / eye coordination!

11. GOALS: Complete your 3 sketches for today. 1.Design – Practice keeping your marker down on the paper, fill up the whole page. 2.Hand – Look at your hand & paper as you draw. Go slowly, show details by retracing your steps. 3.Blind Hand – Look at your hand, NOT the paper while you draw…NO peeking!!!
