December 14, 2013 Tournament Results The Kirbyville Wildcat Bassmasters participated in the first ever Southeast Texas Region High School Fishing Tournament in history this past Saturday, December 14 at Lake Sam Rayburn. Our region had 29 participating schools, 262 teams, 524 students. Our Region is currently the largest high school fishing region in the United States. Kirbyville had the third highest registered anglers in the tournament with 20 teams (40 students) behind the large schools Lumberton and PNG. It was a cold, windy, rough day of fishing and only 81 teams weighed in fish. Kirbyville had 5 teams who weighed in fish. The tournament was won by a team from LCM with 14.24 pounds. The next tournament will be held on February 1 st.

Blake Walker’s fish weighed in 32 place with 4.82 pounds. He was the only Kirbyville student who placed in the money with only 37 spots being awarded.
