Starfinder serves 600 6-18 year olds annually through after school and summer programs. Soccer Activities promote physical, mental, and emotional development; enhance fitness; and improve technical and tactical skills of the game. Educational Activities build life skills & core values; promote diversity, tolerance, and health; teach youth to how solve problems, work together, and communicate effectively; and motivate participants to achieve academically. Soccer for Social Change…Leadership Beyond the Game

5 Social Impact 100% of Starfinder’s regularly-participating seniors graduated high school from 2008 through 2013. (Compare this to the average graduation rate in the Philadelphia School District: 64%. Graduation rates at the schools our participants attend are even lower.) 94% of graduates continued on to post-secondary education. (By contrast, only 1 in 10 students who entered a Philadelphia public school in 1999 had earned a 2- or 4-year college degree 10 years later.) 7 Starfinder graduates have joined our coaching staff and become important role models to our younger participants.
