How Important is the Quiz Master? Without your involvement, there is no tournament. Your diligent involvement sends a message. To Students Your School The ISD Our community

How Do I Begin? Relax, this is a very fun activity. Add the following web site into your “Favorites.” www.monroecountyquizbowl.wikispaces.com is the place to find all the information you need to participate in Quiz Bowl. www.monroecountyquizbowl.wikispaces.com Browse the site for all the many photos and video of previous tournaments. Add Chuck Estep’s email into your address book: chuck.estep@monroeisd.us. You can also call at (734) 242-5799 ext 1337. chuck.estep@monroeisd.us

Where’s the Quiz Bowl Tournament? Quiz Bowl is held at: Monroe County Intermediate School District. 1101 S. Raisinville Road Monroe, MI 48161 For Directions and Maps visit: http://misd.k12.mi.us/about/directions/

When Should I Arrive? If we do not have a Pre-Quiz Bowl meeting, all officials need to arrive 30 minutes early. This will enable you to: Check in. Become familiar with the building & prepare with other officials. Re-examine the schedule. Unwind before the tournament begins.

What Else Should I Do? Put the Dates on Your Calendar. Read & Understand the Rules. Review the Official’s Schedule. Attend the Pre-Quiz Bowl Meeting.

What Are Some Important Tips? R ead questions with clarity and sufficient volume. R emain “in charge” of the match. R ead & Study the rules prior to the tournament. R emain on schedule. R ely on the two Judges who officiate with you. R emember that all decisions you make are final.

Other Tips Check out the “Essential Information” document on the Quizmasters’ portion of the web site. Review any of the other materials or videos present on the web site to help familiarize you with your role as Quiz Master. This will answer many of your “How” questions. Stay in contact with me or your School Coordinator if you have questions or concerns. Check your email often, especially as we get closer to the dates of the tournament.
