Project „Decent work as a key to company’s success” implemented within the Norway Grants, through the Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue in partnership of PL Lewiatan and The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise - NHO.

Project Promoter: The Private Employers of Lublin Area 'Lewiatan’ (Pracodawcy Lubelszczyzny „Lewiatan”) Regional employers organisation one of 61 Unions of Private Employers federated within Polish Confederation Lewiatan - the most powerful organisation representing private sector in Poland, lobbying for more favourable environment to run a business Has about 90 members – private employers from various industries Established in December 2001 Polish Confederation Lewiatan is a member of Business Europe Supported by the Norway Grants, through the Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue

Main Objective: Promotion and support of the idea of decent work and tripartite dialogue through raising awareness of their importance. Target groups: First: Employers (board members and managers) Secondary: Employees, Public Authorities Project duration: 01.01.2013 – 31.12.2014 (24 months) Project budget: 190 048 EUR Supported by the Norway Grants, through the Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue

Study visit in NHO, Norway (20-24 may 2013 r.) - organized by NHO and Abelia in Oslo, Norway RESULTS: Personnel, the board and members of PL Lewiatan who participated in the study visit got acquainted with: -structure of Norwegian Social Dialogue (including both: employers organisation and trade union’s perspective) -socio-economic and and cultural background of the donor country - working environment in Norwegian companies Health and Safety law in Norway -good practices in the area of work-life balance and social dialogue in Norwegian Companies (examples of two member companies of Abelia) ---> Bilateral relations with Norwegian Partner (NHO) were established Supported by the Norway Grants, through the Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue

Supported by the Norway Grants, through the Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue Research on decent work and tripartite dialogue in Lublin Vivodeship RESULTS: - 2 types of surveys were prepared (1 for employees and 1 for employers) -133 employers and 105 employees were interviewed and they filled in surveys, which measure knowledge on the subject of decent work and tripartite dialogue as well as respondents' experiences and attitude towards these issues - 10 meetings with experts have been held (including one joint meeting) - 3 experts commented on the report and measures for development of social dialogue in the region - A complete report will be issued at the end of November 2014 and distributed among social partners

Opening conference, Work-life balance in business, 6 th February 2013 61 attendees: 18 representatives of trade unions and employees 2 representatives of public authorities 34 representatives of employers’ organizations and employers 3 representatives of universities and education 4 media representatives During the conference participants heard about: -Social dialogue and decent work in Norway and Norwegian Funds, Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue - from representative of Project Partner, Henrik Munthe - Project itself - from Project Promotion Specialist - Confederation Lewiatan and its activities - from the President of Lewiatan, Henryka Bochniarz - How to maintain Work-life balance - from an expert of business psychology - Social dialogue and corporate social responsibility - Employers’ representative, President of PL Lewiatan RESULT: - Broadened knowledge on the subject of decent work and tripartite dialogue among employers, employees and public authorities Supported by the Norway Grants, through the Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue

Training for employers (October 2013 – October 2014) Aim: to broaden knowlegde on the subject of decent work, improve understanding of the issue among employers and managers 1.Workshops and semianars: Topics: - Stress management & active rest. How to reduce, prevent and cope with stress -Time management and work-life balance - Human resources management – employees motivation and work-life balance - Non-discrimination and gender equality in the workplace - Lifelong learning rule 2. Individual coaching (March – October 2014) - Complement the knowledge and skills gained during the workshops and seminars to show how to implement the idea of work-life balance, not only in one’s own life, but also in the organizational culture of a company Supported by the Norway Grants, through the Fund for Decent Work and Tripartite Dialogue

Training for employers (October 2013 – October 2014) RESULTS: Organizational leaders and managers: - broadened their knowledge on the subjects of work-life balance and decent work - learned how to introduce the idea of work-life balance into one’s own life and organisational culture of the company 24 training units were performed 4 handbooks regarding the topics were issued and distributed among project participants 160 individual coaching sessions were performed - A program of the training course in the area of work-life balance issues was created and tested

On-line consultation with experts (July 2013 – November 2014) 1) Consultation on maintaining work-life balance and non-discrimination in the workplace (psychological aspect) - chat every Tuesday in the evening (6pm-9pm). - via e-mail wlb@godnapraca.eu - answered by the same expert who was available on-line wlb@godnapraca.eu 2) Consultation on labour law, health & safety and non-discrimination in the workplace (legal aspect) - chat every Tuesday in the evening (2 pm-5 pm) - via e-mail bhp@godnapraca.eu - answered by the same expert who was available on-line@godnapraca.eu

On-line consultation with experts (July 2013 – November 2014) RESULTS: 159 people participated in 66 on-line consultation via project website 81 e-mails with answers to asked questions have been sent 90 chat conversations have been performed RESULTS: -broadened knowledge on the subjects of decent work, especially work-life balance and non-discrimination issues, among 159 consultees - broadened knowledge on legal issues in the field of labour law among among 30 consultees - solutions to legal as well as work-life balance related problems of 129 consultees
