4 Description: something that “juts out” sticks out further than the other things around it Sample sentence: “The tall jagged rocks were jutting out over the land below.” Try it! If you jut your chin out, you move it so that it sticks forward. Jutting

5 Definition: A raised, flat surface Try it! Make a raised, flat surface with your arm and hand. Platform Try it again! Now make your platform jut, or stick out.

6 Jutting Platform When Rudi stands on a “jutting platform,” it is a flat surface that sticks out from the mountain. It looks something like this.

10 Make a steep mountain with your arms. Show what the ascent up that mountain would look like. Now show the descent down. Make a platform with your hand. Now make your raised, flat surface jut. Review
