What You Need: iPad or iPhone Advantages: Automatically converts other files into PDFs Can organize files by class Great for if you are in lecture or like to watch podcasts Can review anywhere! Papyrus What You Need: Tablets with active digitizers (Recommended: Samsung Galaxy Note) Pen has a magnet inside it. Detects pen tip while pen hovers. One side is an eraser. Pressure sensitive (harder pressure = bolding). Finger highlights. Advantages: Recognizes handwriting pretty well Infinite Find function! Learning curve not steep Disadvantages: Stylus that came with it was a little small for his hand $5.00 for converting to PDF capability Accessories: Emaad iqbalej@njms.rutgers.edu

You can choose your own pen and highlighter colors Converts automatically to PDF You can have multiple lectures open at once Can link to Google Drive and Dropbox Can sync to iPhone and laptop Digital textbooks Has a keyboard that comes up. Galaxy Tablet Advantages: Comes in a variety of sizes (Mina likes 12.2”, 10” also good) Smart pad knows where your pen is before you touch the tablet Can take screenshot by touching the pen Plays multiple apps at once, switches smoothly between apps Expandable memory Comes with pen Disadvantages: $650 for the tablet (but still cheaper than the iPad!) Apps to Use with Galaxy Tablet: PDF Max Anki Droid (Good for flashcards) Mina Shenouda

Preview What You Need: A Mac computer (Adobe for PCs is comparable but freezes) Advantages: You don’t need to download anything. It comes standard on Mac computers. Interface pretty intuitive. Highlighting, typing, arrows, underlining all neatly on your lecture slides. Disadvantages: You cannot write on it with a stylus. Hard to look at lecture slides and PDF if you have a smaller computer Natalie Smith
