Big picture – Walkway Planning in 2 phases Phase I - Connect existing walkways along 117 Corridor – Short-term – Plan, design, and construct a few sections of walkway along the 117 corridor Phase II - Prioritize other walkway and maintenance projects – Longer-term – Create a list of recommended projects – Plan for construction including design, maintenance, and funding.

Phase I Status Phase I moving along as planned – Upper Common has been taken out off the table for Phase I construction Community Survey Results – 85% supportive of increased walkability Phase I Land Survey Results – No major obstacles to construction – A little extra expense in a few places

Status Update (con’t) Open considerations – Snow removal Recent MA Supreme Court Ruling Need clarification on Stow’s official position/intent – Crosswalk locations Town Hall / Town Building Rt. 62 / 117 Intersection Harvard Rd. Hudson Rd – Parking Concur with Safety Officer recommendations Provides safe pedestrian access to overflow parking

Phase I - Implementation Walkway Design: – Acquire design services either through professional contract or as a student project Walkway Construction: – Contract construction services through a standard bidding process Walkway Funding: – Design: existing walkway fund (~$249k)
