Accommodating higher-intensity development, including residential uses on upper floors. Increasing the safety and attractiveness of the pedestrian environment

Includes Planting Zone and Clear Pedestrian Zone. Type 2: Supports blend of mixed-use and residential environments. Serves east/west arterials needs and includes median with turn lanes. Includes Planting Zone and Clear Pedestrian Zone. Type 3: Supports mixed use district environment. Includes Planting Zone and Clear Pedestrian Zone. Type 4: Provides environment bridging between mixed-use and residential areas. Includes Planting Zone and Clear Pedestrian Zone.

11. Streetscape Elements Adequate space from the back of the curb is provided for streetscape amenities including trees, pedestrian lighting, trash receptacles, and benches. An active streetscape cultivates an economically-vibrant public realm.
