Graduate Students must raise their GPA to 3.00 at the end of the next semester in which they register. An addition Probationary semester may be granted at the discretion of the Graduate Dean. Graduate Student failing to meet the conditions of Academic Probation is subject to dismissal. Graduate Student earning a Cumulative GPA of 2.00 or lower will be dropped from Graduate Program without a prior Probation period.

Undergraduate Statistics Course Prerequisite Students with no introductory course in statistics (i.e., those without the word ‘statistics” in the title of the course) will need to either: 1.Enroll in MAT121- Introduction to Statistics at WCU or take an equivalent course at Community College or other University OR 2. Complete a Statistical Competency Exam- (Administered by Dept. of Health, under direction of Dr. Stacie Metz – email: smetz@wcupa.edusmetz@wcupa.edu for further information) Considered if student has previous experience with introductory statistics through other courses that may not appear on transcript Scheduled at start of Fall/ Spring Semesters. Score of 85 or higher accepted as replacement of UG statistics requirement

Provisional Acceptance MAT121 Prerequisite If your MPH letter states  provisionally accepted ↓ Because you have yet to meet MAT121 prerequisites ↓ But you have taken an undergrad statistics course (with ‘statistics’ as course title) at other university ↓ Please send your advisor an electronic version of your unofficial transcript, that they can forward to Office of Graduate Studies to ensure that you get into courses that have MAT121 as the prerequisite and switch your program status to FULL. 10. INFORMATION COURSE SEQUENCING Most core courses offered two/three times a year. Many electives offered once a year. Refer to advising sheet for course sequencing. Students who miss courses might delay their graduation date. Always check with advisors to make sure courses are taken in appropriate sequence. SUMMER COURSES Many offered as weeklong workshops (8am – 5pm) or accelerated. Students who work full time, may need to take time off from work to complete these courses. Students will be notified about summer school schedules before the end of the fall semester. Time & dates for these courses will be disseminated so that appropriate notification can be given to employers.

11. INFORMATION APPLIED LEARNING EXPERIENCE I & II Time Commitments Total 300 Hours experience Completed over two consecutive semesters 100 hours for ALE I 200 hours for ALE II Employed students need to make arrangements for time off from work to complete projects during ALE I & II. Students are expected to spend time at agency to complete their projects. At the start of ALE I & II, Students & Agency Site Supervisor need to be in agreement about time needed to be spent on site. GRADE POINT AVERAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLIED LEARNING EPERIENCE I & II Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 after completion of all core & elective courses To maintain the integrity, quality & reputation of program. Will provide a quality educational experience which will prepare students for professional positions upon graduation.

Important Information Regarding Graduation DEGREE CANDIDACY ( Refer to WCU Graduate Catalog for more information) Degree Candidacy application must be made immediately after completion of 12- 15 semester hours of course work.
