1 Stadiums for Bristol. Planning disputes Football & Geography

2 Why does Bristol want new football stadiums? Bristol City’s stadium only holds 21,804. The new stadium would hold 30,000. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/NewStadiumIndex/0,,10327,00.html Bristol Rover’s stadium only holds 11,626. The new stadium would hold 20,000. http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/page/StadiumRegenerationIndex/0,,10328,00.html Both stadiums are fairly old. Modern stadiums are more comfortable and have facilities that will attract more supporters. This means more money. The new stadiums can have features such as corporate hospitality boxes, bars, restaurants, gyms, shops and can be used as a concert arena. Building a new stadium is a sign of ambition. Clubs with new stadiums have often gone on to gain promotion. Examples are Stoke City and Hull City.
