Banner Best Practice s - Project and summary Survey Question 1 College Best Practice 1Best Practice 2 Bristol Community College Daily automated printout of control reports to ensure to all fiscal data is in balance. For example, FGRTBEX, FGRCTRL, FGRCASH and FGRDETL Policy for year end general ledger and encumbrance rolls that is incorporated into our overall year end calendar and protocol. Fitchburg State College * Our use of FormFusion: improvements to sharing output. HRCMS/LCM Labor Distribution and Banner Feed. FSC has implemented a feed from the LCM Warehouse tables to interface with our Banner Finance. Fitchburg State College On-line Budget Transfers through SSB Emailing of PO's to Vendors A workflow that notifies appropriate individuals when any part of the FOAPAL has been added (i.e. new funds, organization, etc) Framingham State College Electronic Approval Queues. Initial setup is cumbersome but works well Using the Time and Attendance part of Banner HR and interfacing with HRCMS to report attendance. Holyoke Community College Massasoit Community College Created administrative reporting in Banner Self Service. Mount Wachusett Community College Fin Aid Electronic only for SSB - Students can now accept awards online. Pin Rest functionality for SSB – custom package that allows students to reset their pin themselves. North Shore Community College Online requisitions implemented for two years we are currently in the process of implementing imaging for finance and purchasing. Digital imaging using Xtender - In use for 5 years and adopted by many departments. We have some useful experiences that could be shared especially to get started. Northern Essex Community College Time and attendance application (home grown and within Self-Service) and HR/CMS interface. It would be nice to collaborate with other Banner schools on the full use of the Banner budget module. Fitchburg State College * Interface to HR/CMS -- why use the Banner HR module when it has to be exported to HRCMS? Banner Document Management - Digitizing documentation for Finance, Purchasing and Admissions. Alumni module -- explore its us and best practices at other colleges. As other colleges have converted their local payrolls, I have already shared with them and the Comptroller's office our LCM/Banner labor distribution interface process. Holyoke Community College We would like to work on some type on integrated on- line budgeting process for departments and divisions. Massasoit Community College Time and attendance interface with HRCMS. Budgeting through self- service. Purchase requisitions on line. Mount Wachusett Community College Comply with new pci/finance regulations within the scope of Banner functionality. How are other banner schools processing transcripts without paying touchnet $$$$ Would like to implement Self Service Finance. ARRA STIM for tracking...best way to capture these monies through Banner

College Project #1Project #2Project #3Project #4 North Shore Community College Self Service areas can provide benefits to many colleges - If these aren't in place already there are more customer service areas and reduced back office support that can be gained. Example for NSCC is the strategy to implement online installment plan, e-billing, e- refund (Note: This latest online strategy was solidified with the new PCI compliance measures) NSCC chose to not just meet requirements but to enhance and expand our services while also gaining reduced operational costs in certain areas and more efficiencies in back office support. Continue to explore group purchasing for products not yet implemented but on colleges radar screens. For example the shopping cart module (approx. 85k) - if 4 or more schools are interested can we obtain substantial discounts providing we buy at the same point in time. Training - communicating between colleges when Sungard or other resources are being scheduled - could other colleges participate providing seats are available? Training on applications that have been implemented at other colleges - Could one or two of these put together general overviews of how to get started, things to watch out for and workflow strategies. Banner Strategic Initiatives Survey Question 3 – Slide 1 of 2 College Initiative 1Initiative 2 Bristol Community College Collaborate with Banner/Blackboard/Nelnet,etc.. to create automated efficiecies (electronic billing, payments and refunds) that will also provide enhanced services to our students The benefit of the Banner Workflow product. Fitchburg State College * Have a core set of modules deployed and in use consistently across Colleges. This would enable sharing of data to be much easier and may provide for better support mechanisms. Framingham State College Students paying tuition, housing, etc deposits online, Ebilling, direct deposit of student refunds through the Touchnet Ebilling application. Holyoke Community College Eletronic Transcript exchange between collegesStandardization of course numbering system between State and Community Colleges. Massasoit Community College Share training and development jointly through webinars. Mount Wachusett Community College Degree Works for all colleges Retention software Upgrades (planned with consultant)

College Initiative 1Initiative 2 North Shore Community College Digital imaging using Xtender has worked out very well for NSCC. End results are many departments now using - tangible benefits (better customer service as records immediately available at all campuses, the process actually saves time, some space savings, etc.) Several more departments including finance, HR and purchasing going live in the next 12 months) Investigating new functionality within Banner 8 and determine which colleges are interested in adopting aspects of the new features. Take this to the next step and determine if any of these areas can benefit from collaboration. Northern Essex Community College Consistency and more standardization throughout system over the entire array of processes. As example, student on-line registration, imaging, student payments. Westfield State College The role of the Enrollment Management suite and its consistent integration with all Banner applications. COMMENTS webFOCUS Banner HR no longer used after conversion to HRCMS for part-timers. 1. For Budget planning implement third party product (SPOL) 2. Very interested in being BETA for state HR/CMS self service time and attendance. 3. Xtender is expanding to other departments (5 currently on) - new areas for imaging (Finance, purchasing & HR, Curriculum) 4. ODS is underway for about a year - need to round out some rough edges and we will be beginning the Data Warehouse in FY10. 5. End user reporting is being converted over to use the ODS with front end reporting tool. Training is consistent bi-weekly and departments are becoming more engaged and self sufficient End User Reporting - We use Crystal Reports & Crystal Enterprise Reports Implementing Argos Using Argos reporting tool with ODS. Argos
