PERSPECTIVE/OVERVIEW OF EM The enrollment management perspective emphasizes the notion of a systems approach to college enrollments, that is, an effort to systematically link all the policies and functional areas that have an impact upon student enrollments.

The blended spirit of these advance track sessions seek to illustrate the shared enrollment practices/interactions of Admissions and Records operations and how they may be influenced by pricing thresholds, budgets or scholarship implications. Each advance track session will be presented by joint speakers and/or panels representing both admissions and records. These sessions vary from year to year, but address current topics of interest to benefit experienced professionals.

What Enrollment Management is Not! Exclusively Admissions, Recruitment and Financial Aid. A fancy new title for Admissions Directors. A concept that College Presidents clearly comprehend and understand.

Young Harris College Profile Young Harris College is a liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, founded in 1886. YHC is a two-year college with 605 students enrolled. YHC is located in the northeast Georgia mountains in Young Harris, Ga. Prominent graduates include U.S. Senator Zell Miller and country music recording artist Trisha Yearwood.

Enrollment Woes: Orientation – need for additional advisors, increase in overhead. Unknown impact on course offering portfolio, i.e., placement tests, pre- requisites. Bookstore/Textbook issues. Disproportionate need for freshmen course offerings in relation to sophomore offerings.

End Results Additional advisors hired at a cost of $6000, with an increased workload for advisors. English 101 offered during evening. Math 90 and Math 101 sections added. Students were without books for brief time. Faculty not as likely to teach preferred sophomore level courses.
